Water-based Dispersion Adhesives Availability Expanding in China
An adhesive manufacturer, Jowat, has opened a new manufacturing location in China located in the Zhejiang province, around 70 kilometers from Shanghai. The new facility of the adhesive manufacturer from Detmold is set to produce approximately 9,000 tonnes of tailor-made adhesives annually for the Asian market starting from the second quarter of 2024, reports the company.
With a focus on water-based dispersion adhesives as well as solutions specially adapted to the consumer electronics market, the new facility spanning over 11,000 square meters provides not only robust production and storage capabilities but also a state-of-the-art research and development center. “Over 80 percent of the highly demanded electronic accessories are currently manufactured in China. Due to the geographical proximity to this very attractive growth market, we can now offer our customers innovative Jowat adhesives locally, with rapid development cycles and optimum availability,” says a delighted Dr. Ralf Schelbach, vice president for Asia Pacific at Jowat SE.
Jowat reports that with the launch of the new adhesive center, now the second manufacturing location in Asia, Jowat SE is not only extending its presence in the Asia-Pacific market. It also strengthens another strategic cornerstone in its dynamic research and development landscape, reaffirming the enterprise’s position as an innovation leader in the industry.
