New Aerospace Firewall 2K Silicone Sealant
Aerospace firewalls serve multiple functions including fire containment, thermal protection, smoke barrier and structural integrity and are common in aircraft, armored vehicles and naval vessels. A new sealant, Stabond’s Firewall 2K sealant, enhances the ability of the firewall to prevent the passage of fire, smoke and hazardous gases around gaps, holes and through components, and provides dependable thermal insulation, according to the company. Stabond reports that their 2K sealant is proven effective at temperatures from -65 to +400°F (-54 to +204°C) and can withstand flash temperatures of up to 2000°F (1093°C).
“The Stabond Firewall 2K sealant marks the latest advancement in the company’s long-standing tradition of providing the highest performing products to A&D manufacturers,” says John Vancura, president of Stabond Corporation. “The product has passed rigorous testing and features advanced formulations that set a new standard for firewall sealant silicones.”
Manufactured in an AS9100/NADCAP accredited facility, the Firewall 2K sealant qualifies to AMS3374 and is compliant with BMS 5-63. These standards ensure that the sealant meets critical quality and performance criteria, providing users with confidence in reliability and effectiveness.
