RPM Acquisition Expands Waterproofing Options for Below-Grade Construction
RPM International, a global manufacturer of specialty coatings, sealants, and building materials, has acquired Volteco S.p.A., an Italian manufacturer of below-grade waterproofing systems, for its Tremco Construction Products Group.
For contractors, architects, and specifiers, the acquisition expands Tremco CPG’s range of waterproofing technologies for structures exposed to groundwater, moisture intrusion, and demanding below-grade conditions.
Volteco’s portfolio includes Amphibia™ waterproofing sheet membrane along with mortars, resins, flexible liquid products, damp-proofing materials, and patch-and-repair systems. RPM said these technologies complement Tremco CPG’s existing building-envelope and waterproofing portfolio.
Volteco products have been used in a range of applications, including tunnels, public infrastructure, historic structures, and large commercial projects. Among the projects cited by RPM are the Santa Giulia Ice Hockey Arena in Milan, an underground transportation tunnel in L’Aquila, and Y-40, a deep thermal pool in Italy.
Frank Sullivan, RPM Chairman and CEO, said Volteco’s technologies will complement Tremco CPG’s existing product lines and can be introduced to customers through the group’s global sales network.
For construction professionals, the combination may provide broader access to below-grade waterproofing technologies through Tremco CPG’s existing technical, distribution, and specification resources.
