AI-Based Tool Aims to Speed Adhesive and Tape Selection
3M has launched Ask 3M, an AI-powered digital assistant designed to help customers identify adhesive and tape solutions and access technical information more quickly.
According to the company, the platform allows users to ask questions in plain language, such as which adhesive may be suited to a particular substrate combination, how products compare, or how a specific adhesive system is used. The tool is initially focused on industrial adhesives and tapes.
3M stated that Ask 3M draws on verified product documentation and internal application knowledge, rather than open internet sources. The company said this approach is intended to provide more direct access to technical guidance related to product selection and troubleshooting.
For end users, the platform may reduce the time required to locate technical documents, compare material options, and connect with authorized distributors. According to 3M, the goal is to help customers solve bonding challenges and make more informed product decisions.
