Dow-Univar Agreement Expands Access to Low-Carbon Products with PCF Documentation
Dow and Univar Solutions have announced a long-term agreement to distribute Dow’s Decarbia™ low-carbon products with Product Carbon Footprint certificates through Univar Solutions’ global distribution network.
According to the companies, the agreement is intended to improve customer access to lower-carbon product options across a range of markets, including beauty and personal care, home care, food, pharmaceutical, and industrial applications. The companies also stated that the arrangement is designed to help customers address Scope 3 emissions reduction targets.
Dow reported that product carbon footprints are calculated using its Carbon Footprint Ledger methodology, which the company said is aligned with international PCF standards including ISO 14067 and the GHG Protocol Product Standard.
For end users, the agreement may provide broader access to lower-carbon materials supported by product-level carbon footprint documentation. According to the companies, that combination may help customers evaluate supply chain choices while supporting sustainability reporting and procurement objectives.
Brendy Lange of Dow said the collaboration is intended to support value chain decarbonization, while David Jukes of Univar Solutions said the agreement broadens access to low-carbon products through the distributor’s global reach.
